Help! - Clicking noise

when i try to start my car, all i get is a rapid clicking noise. is a
faulty/dead battery causing this? thanks in advance for any responses.

Never hurts to include the make, model and year of car.

Nevertheless, I'll go with low bettery. Interior lights can be bright
without enough juice to crank it.
