From collecting the car newm I'm getting a strong rattle from what sounds
like the exhaust box, only when cold. Problem goes away completely after
moving off for 50 yards and only returns after the engine has completely
cooled again
Dealer told me this was a known anomoly and nothing to worry about, but
could not explain it further
Anyone seen this already and know what this is
Thanks

try another dealer - there is a HUGE!!! variation in the quality of the
mechanics and service staff between dealers --- from personal experience

I am having the same problem car rattles from cold at about 2200 rpm
took it to dealer who said it was engine internal. But no real
problem they suggested that if they cant get a fix from Porsche they
would replace the engine on warranty
seems excessive but the rattle is driving me mad

I wonder if this has to do with ceramic coated headers...? This was a
problem on some cars sometime in the 90's. IIRC, they would rattle when
cold, but after the ceramic heated and swelled slightly, it resolved.
