Here in California the Cayman S went on sale yesterday.  Any first
impressions from lucky owners or drivers?

Local dealer had instructor led autocross Cayman-demo.  I took it out for 6
laps and I could not stop smiling when I was done.  I could do no wrong, I
kept going faster every lap.  If I didn't love my 911 so much, I think it
would have been an easy sell.

Well it's as hot looking in person as it is on TV.

I saw it in person for the first time at the Los Angeles auto show,
havn't driven one yet so I can't comment there, but I'm not sure I like
the styling changes they made over the Boxster, especially the fascia.
I would've been happy if they'd just afixed a permanent roof to the
987's body myself, I really like the way they look. However, I did
really dig the front trunk/rear hatch setup, makes it a quite
functional car. Obviously, it's not capable of carrying more than 2
people, but if you don't have kids or can afford to also own a larger
car, the Cayman seems like it'd be a perfectly adequate daily driver
for one or two people to use, it's got enough space for suitcases and
such so driving it to work shouldn't be an issue. I just wonder if a
golf bag would fit.
