Release of new version of the 911?

Does anybody know when the new 911 is set to be released? I am hoping
to buy a 2004 911 Carrera 2 Coupe (in Europe) soon - will the new
version affect the second-hand value of a current 911 significantly?

    The 2005 model (type 997) will hit this fall; you can see pictures
of it in CAR magazine and Autocar. In 2007, the type 998 will be
released with an 8-cylinder engine.
    A new model, especially one with the dramatic change in appearance
the 997 has, will drive down prices of the 996. It should be even more
significant since the 996 has never been as popular as the 993 was. I
would think the best deals would be on an early 996, rather than the
later models.
