I am wanting to buy a Aliner and I would like to hear from other owners
about what they like and dislike about them.

Try here:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/alinerchaleta-frames/

Also, a google search shows lots of posts about them:

http://groups-beta.google.com/groups?q=Aliner&start=0&

This newsgroup doesn't get as many posts as it used to, so an archival search
will yield more results.

We had an A-Liner before and the only thing we had against the trailer was
that our unit did not have bathroom/shower.
Other than that, we loved it.
Fuel-wise it cost about a mile/gallon off our mileage.

Wow!  Only 1mpg off?  What is your tow vehicle?

Sometimes when I have towed my Coleman Santa Fe my mileage improves. When I
am not towing, I am mostly driving around town. When I do tow, I often hit
the interstates.

Our tow vehicle was a couple of different vehicles actually.  Our first was
a Ford Windstar.  and the 2nd was a Ford F150 (2000).
We camped in our trailer in November with Snow on the ground in Ruidoso, New
Mexico. Very comfortable.
Just a point - this is not a trailer to be in if you are caught indoors for
any length of time. Just food for thought!

Don't rule out the Chalet A-frame either.
http://www.chaletrv.com/

A group dedicated to Chalet's.

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/chaletcamping/

Most of us hang out on the A-frame forum too.

Great for solo or couples.
Insulated and no bullshit about the 30 second set-up time.

Cons: pricey, a bit much for more than two people.
I  owned two canvas units before my Chalet.
I should have bought the Chalet first.

Pricey, yes.

quiet, yes.

Easy, set up can't be beat.

Cozy.

easy to tow.  If your vehicle is high enough you can see over the top
of the camper.

I haven't camped in the thing since I picked it up in December but
I've spent a couple hours inside during cold biting winds checking for
drafts and leaks.  Couldn't find any.

Looking forward to a springtime trial run.

I don't know how you can stand the anticipation. Even with all the rain in
California, we still got out between Christmas and New Years for a 4-day trip.

We have been too busy with school/work/daughter's basketball to go RVing since
then. I was over at the RV storage place this last weekend to put a block of
wood under the tongue jack. When I had it hooked up, it was all I could do not
to just drive off and escape for a day or two.

Our next trip in at the end of this month. 4 nights on the Sacramento River
river with my buddy's 25' boat to fish in.

I'm looking forward to it...

It's hard.  But I also have the problem of not being able to go that
far away because my daughter and I are skating in our local figure
skating club's ice show in May.  Rehearsals start this weekend.  Other
weekends we have lessons and have been traveling to buy to new skates.

I want to get more warm weather experience before towing in snow.
Spending a winter vacation camping out and skating sounds great.

With remodeling the house, skating lessons, and orthodontics
inexpensive getaways are necessary.
