Hey all. Going to look at this popup on Sunday and get into the
popup-camping world. Can't wait!
What kinds of things should I be looking for as I check this out?
check all appliances... call the seller the day before at least and let
them know you would like the fridge running so it is cold and all other
appliances (furnace, a/c, hot water, etc)will be tested. Camper
appliances are very expensive......
also, check the canvas for tears, mold, mildew; and tires for dryrot.

I had a Heritage Rushmore; we replaced a lot fo stuff under warranty -
some items were related to the dealership though.
Most importantly, check the ABS roof.
Make sure it is not sticking out (bulging) on the sides.
Raise it about 4 inches and verify it doesn't sag in the middle.
Check out these photos for reference

On the Left-Rear corner picture, you not only see the sag, but even
worse you can just make out a spider crack from the top of the roof's
corner. This camper had two ABS roofs on it and was scheduled to get a
third Fiberglass when I traded it.
Next check out the bunk ends.
The supports and the rubber grommit underneath have problems holding the
supports.

Also check the bunk guides, they should allow the beds to slide in/out
easily, but not slide out themsleves. Here is a picture of one of mine
on the front that continued to pull out

You will also want to check the canvas for tears, holes, etc. Make sure
it is aligned nicely; verify the door assembles easily and the travel
straps in the ceiling are good.
It probably has on-demand water and a hot water pump, so fill the tank
and check for leaks throughout and at the outside faucet if you have it.
The Heritage came with hydraulic surge brakes on the trailer. Personally
I prefer electric brakes, but that is partially becuase my tow-vehicle
was not well-suited to the weight of the Heritage. The nice part is that
any vehicle can just hook up and the surge brakes "work". Verify the
brakes work by backing up a hill.
