My news server (news.individual.net) is going "pay", any suggestions on free
news servers.  I like using outlook, I have tried google groups but do not
like the format......

Gerry:

I use Newsguy. Their basic service is $39.00 a year. I just figure it as cheap
entertainment and pay up every year.

Individual News Net is 10 Euros per year which converted to $13.59 for
a year of service.  Now getting them paid is another matter...:-)

Been looking and think I may go with Newsguy, just to have the binary
access, not that I use it now, but I don't know what I am missing ;)

I have been with news.individual.net for about 6 years and like it, but it
may be time for a change.

I can always go back I suppose if I do not like it.

Mark, do you get close to the 5gb limit of the basic???

My ISP provides news servers. I would check to see if yours does.
