Hello,
We recently bought a 2004 Chevy Venture Van (extended model, not short
model).
We have a small and very light 1984 Starcraft Starflyer 19 popup. I
originally was going to get a hitch for our van with a smaller opening
than the 2" that is on our pickup truck.
However, we do have a 2" bike carrier (4 bike capacity) similar to the
one in the link below:

I thought it might be nice to have a 2" hitch on our van so we could
use the bike carrier on that vehicle, and not just our pickup truck.
Can any of you recommend any hitches? I am looking for appearance (i
don't want it any lower from the bumper than necessary) and ease of
installation. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and don't mind
drilling the frame etc., but would rather not if there is a hitch out
there that doesn't require drilling.
I also want to still keep the spare tire underneath the van after the
hitch is installed.
Thanks in advance,
David

etrailer.com lists two class III (2" receiver) hitches for this vehicle.
One is by Hidden Hitch, the other is a Draw-Tite. For the long wheel-base
model, for both hitches, you have to drill one 1/2" hole on each side into
the frame (after disconnecting and lowering the exhaust), listed as
difficulty level 5 out of 10 (approx 50 minutes). Diagrams and instructions
are on line at the etrailer.com web site.
Reese-hitches.com lists similar hitches, also involving drilling two 1/2"
holes. Instructions and diagrams are at their site as well.

I got the Hidden Hitch Class receiver for a 2001 Venture and it took
me about 1.5 hours to install.
The drilling was not too difficult.
