Hello,

We are headed out this next week to visit and camp in Mississippi and
Alabama for a couple of weeks.  Are there any favorite places you have
camped and would go back to another time?  Add Arkansas to that mix?

Thanks,  Elaine

If you're in Jackson, MS, then I can highly recommend the Lefleur's
Bluff State Park, 2140 Riverside Drive, Jackson, MS 39202, (601)
987-3923 office; (601) 354-6930 fax; (601) 987-3985 camping; (601)
362-5485 golf course.  The CG entry is via Lakeland Terrace
(Rd/Dr/Blvd/Ave/whatever) by the Shell Service Station just past
Highland Drive.  It's possible to make reservations for camping.

Lefleur's Bluff State Park is located very conveniently just barely east
off of I-55 (exit #98B) nearly smack dab in the middle of Jackson and
maybe a bit south (?)!  Spouse and I stayed at this CG two different
times this past Holiday Season, and we liked it.  Of course, since it
was off-season, there were plenty of open sites and no reservations were
needed the both times we stayed there last December.

As always, YMWV (your milage will vary).

In Alabama, we stayed at the Monte Sano state park in Huntsville. ABSOLUTELY
BEAUTIFUL!!! The wildlife is great, facilities are great, etc.! We hope to
get back down that way soon as Alabama is one of our favorite states we've
been through. The people are great and the scenery is beautiful!

Just make sure your tow vehicle is not marginal as the climb up the mountain
to the park is steep and long!

Simplex operation on amateur radio is phenomenal from atop the mountain as
well!  :-)

Just went down to Mississippi for a week.  Stayed at the Magnolia RV Park in
Vicksburg.  Nice clean facility close to town and the military park.  Very
RV oriented but OK for the 2 nights we were there.  On the more pop up
friendly side of things were Natchez State Park was very nice as well as
Trace State Park and the Meriwether Lewis Campground along the Natchez Trace
Parkway. Can't beat the price on the 3 campgrounds along the Trace.  Free,
Free, Free.
