Can anyone recommend a good cleaning product or home remedy/concoction for
getting the mildew spots off popup canvas?

Will Simple Green work or is there another product that works better?  1
TBSP Bleach to 2 cups water?

Once the spots are there they are there forever, short of bleaching ( which
will ruin the canvas ) there is nothing you can do.
But in the off chance someone here has a solution please let me know, I have
a 24 year old pop up that has spots! I found nothing would get it out!

Re waterproof it that smell will cure everything! At least thats what I did
to get rid of the musty smell. So far its been a year and the smell is only
of the sealer.

Hi,

I'm going to try this concoction tomorrow and will let you know how it
works. It was posted on another forum.

8 oz.  water
2 teas salt
2 teas. lemon juice

Will do a test spot and report back but feel free to upstage me if you
wish. :-)

Hi:

Ha...I think I'll wait to hear your results!.  I did wash the canvas with
a
mild soap and water but the smell remains.  When the camper is open for an
hour or so the smell is almost not noticeable.  But, if at night we have
to
close the sides it will probably end up smelling again in short order.

Thanks.

You might try spritzing the area with a little vinegar.

Also, try and get the moldy area into some really bright sunlight. You would
be surprised how sunlight can bleach.

BTW, both these techniques I know about from when I used to wash my babies
diapers. I used vinegar as an odor neutralizer. If I had stained diapers, I
would place in the sun for a couple of hours - and the stains would
disappear.

Washing Soda (available in the laundry aisle) also works as an odor
neutralizer, but would probably leave a residue.
