I did own a HI-LO, but sold it last summer. I have regretted selling it.
Really loved the Hi-Lo, but it was to heavy for a pop-up.
I'm looking to buy another camper. I would like one that is roomy, but
could easily pull with a 3.4 Tacoma 4x4.

How about a Trailmanor... a folding hard side camper, but lighter and
simpler than the Hi-Lo...you can see them at www.trailmanor.com.. or
see what the owners really say about them at www.trailmanorowners.com

HILO is not a pop-up. It's a Travel trailer that has a vertical slide out
:-).
They are even a bit heavier that an equivalent travel trailer but very well
built.
Had one too. I used to say that my 65 year old wife with arthritis could
set it up in 10 seconds.

Brian, for roomy pop-up, there's only one choice, one with a slide out
dinette. this really creates room inside the pop-up. Obviously, these
models are heavier than non-slide pop-up, but way lighter than the
Hi-Lo. Should be OK to tow most of them with the Tacoma. My previous
Coleman Casa-Grande (slide out and bay window) was 2700# dry, and was
easily towed with the Astro I had at the time. What I like about the
Coleman slide was there was no support leg. Just a big drawer to slide
out and push in.
good luck with the shopping!
