Jayco 6 pin wiring harness?

Hey all-

After talking to a lot of people "guessing" at both the dealership and
a Jayco customer service, I figured I'd try here.

The jayco popups have that 6 pin rectangular connector.  I know what a
7 pin can handle, and it stands to reason that the 6 pin will have one
function missing.

I figured with a 7 pin on a popup application you'd have the following
functions:

Right turn
Left turn
Tail lights
Ground

Electric brakes
Reverse lights
Charge wire

Can anyone tell me what the 6 pins are for?

Thanks,
Korey

Ok, I'm replying to my own post, but maybe someone can tell me if this
is correct.  Looking at the pictures of the popups, I don't see any
reverse lights - is this in fact the case?  I basically just want to
make sure I can have both brakes and a charge wire.

My understanding of the seventh pin is that it is "Aux" (which means it
is used as needed or desired).

I have heard of it being wired as reverse lights or as center brake
lights, but the reverse lights or center brake lights were added by the
person(s) using it as such.

On my trailer (2000 Coleman/Fleetwood Bayside), 6 of the 7 pins are
wired, the center "Aux" pin is not used.

Hi,
A six pin connector has no provisions for back up lights.  With a
seven pin connector you have a connection for back up lights.

On a six pin connector the charge wire will be the black AUX wire.
The brake wire will be a blue ST wire coming from your brake
controller.

Take care and Happy Campin...

Hi,
On a six pin plug the connections for RV wiring are:

GD White Wire  = Ground
TM Green Wire  = Running Lights
LT Red Wire      = Left Turn/Brake lights
RT Brown Wire  = Right Turn/Brake lights
ST Blue Wire      = Brake Controller
Aux Black Wire   = Power

For an ASME plug the wiring is slightly different.

GD White=Ground
TM Brown=Running lights
LT Yellow=Left Turn/Brake
RT Green=Right Turn/Brake
ST Blue=Brake Control
Aug Black=Power

Take care and Happy Campin...

Thank you all, gentlemen.  That was exactly the info I was looking for.
Much appreciated.

I figure on putting a 7 pin round connector on the truck, since I've
seen plenty of adaptors from 7 pin to smaller trailer connectors, but
none the reverse way.

Tomorrow I'm going into the Jayco dealership and taking the plunge on a
new Jayco 1006!

Most of the Jaycos that have the 6-pin on the trailer are wired to a 7-
pin to the tow vehicle. Do that and staywith convention without the
requirement of an adapter.

We love our 10' Jayco,  much more than the previous 12' we had.
