just curious....how often does everybody recaulk their campers?
Jennypurr - 23 Aug 2005 03:27 GMT
We check every year; those places that need to be re-caulked, get
caulked.  We have found places one usually don't think about needing
caulk (like the rubber gasket around the edge of the roof) that needed
caulking.  We're still working on that problem; most of the caulk we've
tried peels off after curing. ;~[
Anybody have a suggestion on what kind of caulk or glue we need to fix
the problem?

Most RV dealers should carry the proper caulking to use but I like C-10
Self-Leveling Caulking.  This is what most manufacturers use to caulk around
most roof penetrations.  It forms a nice smooth seal and fills in all of the
voids nicely.

Guess that would help.....  Dyco Paints, Clearwater, Fla. 34620.

"Dyco C-10 Flow Sealant formulated with DuPont Hypalon which forms a tough,
flexible, synthetic rubber seal." as per the info on the tube.

I would NOT recommend this for vertical surfaces.  Works great on horizontal
and sloped surfaces though.
