Check to see if there's a lamp under the floor, above the step. It may light
the step.

That's a good suggestion, but I'll bet dimes to donuts that that's not what
it's for. If it IS, I will be amazed as such a (NICE) feature is not found
even on today's entry-to-mid-line travel trailers, much less popups.
I don't know where my brain was (don't answer that!<g>) when I first read the
article but...
It's probably the switch to the outside "porch" light. My 1987 Starcraft
Galaxy had one JUST as described.
Good luck!

I had an older Coleman Williamsburg with the feature I described, which is
why I suggested it. When the step closed, the back part of the step hinge
mechanism (solid) protected the light from road debris.

Nice. I think I would rather have THAT than the porch light.

I agree, since the porch light on mine is at eye level, and blinding.

Hi All,
It's a step light. I called the previous owner.
Doc
Why not simply call the previous owner????

Question #3. The name and model should be on the furnace. These
furnaces were used by many companies. A local dealer will have
information on it. I bought a new motor for mine last year. If not,
a web search should pay off. My 1988 Sequoia Coleman has a Hydro
Flame Corp, Salt Lake, UT. A pain in the butt to light.
If I was in your place. The first thing I would do. Is repack the
bearings. Also you could add bearing buddies.
Even with many cross country trips and three trips to AK from VT. My
1988 Sequoia Coleman is in great shape. I have never cooked in it.
The only problem has been the cracking of the ABS plastic Coleman
used in the front and back of the roof. Duck tape was the only
solution.

Try http://www.popupexplorer.com I personally think it is THE popup
site.
>2) I would like to know if I can get a repair manual somewhere?
What kind of repair manual? Bout the only thing on the camper that
usually needs repair is the lift system, and there is a lift manual
out there. Other systems in the camper (furnace, a/c, stove, fridge,
running gear) prolly have separate manuals.
>3) How do I work the furnace?
You prolly have the Coleman furnace, like mine does. If you do, pull
the front door off the furnace, and there is operation instructions in
there.

In my unit, this switch controls the step light.

I have a 1981 Coleman Shenandoah, and I am still working on it. There
are a lot of things I am learning about this camper, and a lot of it
comes from the aforementioned popupexplorer.
