If you have the time and are handy with tools, they make a great past
time....If not, you can spend a lot of $$$....
As far as campgrounds not letting them in, I've found that it's really
not their age, but their condition. I think most campgrounds would
like to see a restored vintage camper. No junkers, just nice looking
units...
Just my opinions...

I might just restore one and sell the other. Seems like somebody would
want a compact trailer to tow behind a small car for short trips.
Thanks

I am wondering what would constitute a "junker". I have a 81 Coleman
Shenandoah that I am rebuilding, and the outside has the *original*
paint on it, and the roof has been KoolSealed.... I dont know if I
will have the outside painted by the time I go to use it for the first
time here in a couple of weeks.....

Sorry no pics of either of these antiques. Yes San Diego county
campgrounds are pretty nice and certainly close enough. I kinda forgot
about them. Used to tent camp at Dos Picos near Ramona a few times a
year. Lake Jennings is OK too and really close.
I 'll call and see what they have to say. A little mini vacation would
be fun.
Of course theres the whole registration fiasco. Probably never
straighten that out. DMV is totally messed up on this old stuff.
Maybe I should trade them to some Mexicans in exchange for yard work.
Might be an improvement to some of the shanty towns I've seen. The
roofs don't leak and the windows seal against the rain.
Thanks folks

I would imagine you'll be fine... If not, go somewhere else that will take
your money...

I have only once seen an RV park have a published rule of the age of
the RV - it was, BTW, the RV park in Ventura, just off the freeway.
They didnt seem to follow that rule. I expect other RV parks also have
rules. But not campgrounds - which tend to be publically owned.
BTW, some of the nicest campgrounds in so cal are part of the San Diego
County Parks. Check them out!

I rather like seeing the old RV's around...especially some of the classics
that folks have taken good care of. My parent's 1971 Terry looks better
than some 90's models I've seen around...
I guess a rule against old RV's gives them the right ignore it for the most
part, but to then enforce it when a real trash heap rolls in. Though in all
honesty, I've not yet seen one in a campground that I wouldn't want to be
parked next to for a weekend... I guess the snobs need a place to go...?
