I had the same problem, but was not the original owner. For $400 you can get
a new seal and glue, I decided to use 100% silicone and it has worked so far
(6 months) but does not look like a permanent fix.

Is that a rubber roof? If so, all I hear is that you should not use
silicone. All the RV places sell a "self leveling" sealant.

Rich, it's a pop-up, so not a rubber roof as on TT or 5er.
the Coleman roof is made of ABS, and I think nothing stays glued to it
very easily

I used some black automotive Silicon on my Seapine. Its been working
for about 9 months. It came off right over the door area. I'm the
original owner. It will go to the dealer if it comes off again.

Ouch! :(
Then again, it IS, after all, a CRITICAL component in the folding system.
I wonder how much $ an official service center would charge for their labor to
do the work.

I wonder the length of the warranty, if any, on such work done professionally.
Would it be worth having the $400 "part" professionally installed?

Actually that's a bit high, my dealer charged me about $275 for both.
However, the new ABS seal is peel and stick, no glue needed.

The instruction indicated that 90 minutes was the expected install time.
That probably doesn't include the time to clean off the old adhesive.
