Hybrid modifications to interior

We have a Coyote 23' hybrid camper that we like very much.  We were
looking at going to a longer travel trailer to upgrade a couple of things
including the size of the bathroom - just too hard to move around in
there. By going to 30-31' we could get the larger bathroom but not really
much more and would cost over $10,000 or more after all is said and done.

So using that big huge brain 'twixt my ears (got me a sixth grade
uducation just like Jethro,) I came up with an idea. I think if I knock
out one wall in the existing interior structure I think we could get the
space we want/need. The link below has the floorplan for the trailer.

http://www.kz-rv.com/coyote/coyote_23cms.php

I think I can just knock out the 1.5' or so of wall right next to the
stool and then rotate the stool about 45 degrees.  Since we use air
mattresses and not the cusions that came with the camper we can replace
the curtain between the back tent with a small sliding door for privacy on
that end.  Since the existing bathroom door would no longer have anything
to latch to I would probably install another light weight swinging door
that would hinge on the wall of the pantry.  That way there would be a
really nice full width private place with access to the closet for
bathing, changing clothes etc...

Has anyone done anything like this?  I don't think there are any electrics
in the wall to remove.  How hard would it be to rotate/reposition the
stool?  I would probably just replace the linoleum to the rear of the
pantry along with having to re-trim the edge where the wall would be
removed.  Is there anything else I'm missing?

Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks
Stev

It would be far easier and less expensive to put a curved curtain
track on the ceiling and install a shower curtain to draw around the
area outside the bath what needed. When not needed, it would tie back
to the wall next to the bed or next to the shower.
That's what I did with a Class B camper I owned a few years back.

We had discussed that to and it may still be an option.  My daughter(s)
use that back bedroom, and have complained at times that they have
difficulty getting to sleep/sleeping when some of the rest of us aren't in
bed yet due to noise and light.  I would kind of like to get it quieter
and cut down on the interior light that gets into that sleeping
compartment as part of the project.

Also on some of the other campers we looked at, it just wasn't what they
wanted to see - they preferred the models with a solid door.  Probably
another subtle hint of some kind from them...

You may want to pose the question on the HYBRIDS forum at www.rv.net

That is a great idea.  Was not aware of that site but it looks promising
and I will post there.

Since the original post, I found out that a carpenter my mom uses
occasionaly works on stick houses or whatever you want to call them.  He
has not come over to do an estimate yet but seems to be familliar with
what I want to do on the camper.  In particular on a phone conversation he
seemed to have some information about rotating that toilet that seemed to
make things more involved than I thought they might be - but that is the
kind of knowledge I lack and why I need someone who is familliar with the
territory.

Thanks for your information and I really enjoyed browsing your site too.
Lots of good camping humor and really enjoyed the flying stuff too.

Best of luck!
(Keep them kids camping!)
Thanks
Stev
