We are new to camping and just bought a 95 coleman chesapeak. My
question is can we dye the curtains in it or will we have to replace
them? Has anyone dyed curtains for a pop up before? Any suggestions
would be GREATLY appreicaited.

You can dye them.

Be prepared for the possibility that they may DISINTEGRATE when washed.  They
are, after all, 10-years old.

Good luck!

Confirm availability of replacements before trying.

This is a GREAT suggestion!   :)

After about 10 years, we washed the curtains in our popup (bought new) for the
first time.  They didn't fare too badly, but they WERE worse for wear.   :(

If the curtains aren't particularly filthy and they work properly, I suggest
leaving them alone.

Thanks guys :)
After reading the posts my hubby has decided to leave well enough
alone. I personally like the color of the curtains but he doesn't so I
WIN LOL.

...and it's only the beginning!   :)

Camping men everywhere should always remember:  There is a special place in
heaven for women who camp.

> Spanky and Darla with 3 girls

We camped with our three girls.  We began when the middle girl wasn't quite
potty trained.  We tent camped with high chairs, a porta crib and potty, among
other things.

Later, we ty-rapped Stingray bicycles to the rack atop the station wagon to
add to the fun.  Then we got a new popup.  We went to Yellowstone.  It was the
trip of a lifetime.

Then, they grew up.  In 2002, I wore a tuxedo every other Saturday for 27
days:  Each daughter had a formal wedding, in birth order,  on July 6, July 20
and August 3.  Little sh*ts!   :)

Now they bring my GRANDCHILDREN camping.  Life is good!

The curtains in our rig that is 21 years old have been cleaned about
every 5 year by putting then in the dryer for about 15 minutes on air
setting. You'd be surprised how much better they look just getting the
loose dirt shook off!!
