Greetings. I have a line on a 1995 Jayco Eagle 10 ST (I think I've got that
right) with A/C, Awning, and in great shape generally. But its owner tried
to raise the roof with one of the hold-downs secured, and ka-sproing!
...there went a cable. Driver's side rear cable, to be specific. Wants $1900
for it as-is, and the price is firm  since he knows he can do much better if
he gets off his butt and fixes it himself. As for me, I don't see any reason
why I can ferret out the problem and correct it in a day or two, including
getting replacement parts if necessary.

He has agreed to raise 'er up for my inspection, and we'll see if maybe we
can't fix it on the spot. If we do, he says the price stays the same, but
I'll give him $2k for it if that's the case.

What do y'all think? He sent pics, and it looks really nice. I'll be seeing
it in person very soon, maybe tomorrow. I'm a single guy, by the way, so
there's no family accomodations involved or anything like that.

Cheers,
Kurt

Unfortunately, cable repair is one of the hardest thing to do on a pop-up.

Best thing is to bring it to the dealer and have them quote on it (maybe
a major part was badly damaged), then you'll know how much it's all
going to cost you.

still, nadaguides.com rates it at average value 1950$ with furnace and
AC. so the seller's price is good, if he pays for the repairs.

Mel

When I inspected the camper, the problem was diagnosed in a heartbeat. I
bought it, and had it working as advertised before dinnertime. The rest of
the camper is in excellent condition, even had an Add-A-Room awning. Don't
you just love a happy ending?
