Good day group. Two weeks ago we took our 1983 Coleman Sun Valley to an
event but when we started to crank it up it go about 8 inches open and then
drops about 5 inches. It will do this over and over, can't get past that
point .... tried lifting it past but it still won't hold.
Little past history .... one corner of the trailer had a droop problem that
I was going to attack while it was open on this trip ... past advice had
sent me to the cable being off the top pulley in the corner rail ... didn't
get that far.
Also, for the past several times we put the trailer up it cranked so hard my
son could not do it. It also would bang and then jump while cranking it
like it just jumped a tooth on a gear or such. I had lubricated the treaded
rod and cables with white grease on the last trip and it seemed to help a
little until this latest issue.
Any ideas on how best to repair this/these problems? Where does one get
parts for these units?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Update - I took the cover off the threaded bar assy. and find there are
small balls as if from a bearing laying in the bottom of the metal cover.
Where is the bearing these came from ... is it in the metal piece that
attaches to the cables or is it in the end piece? Where can I get a bearing
for this thing?
Thanks for any ideas.
