Trailblazer, activating the trailer charge line?

I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer pulling a Fleetwood Mesa (2004) ....
works fine. I found out that I do not charge my battery from the TV
while driving and hooked up thru the bargman connector. I measured the
pins (black and white, ) and I get nothing. I looked at the fuse box
and cannot tell which fuse is missing or blown. Anyone give me a clue
as to which fuse is missing or bad to activate the "charge" line on
the 7 pin  bargman connector? I have checked both the fuse box in the
engine compartment and the one under the back seat.

On some vehicles there is a relay for this, which may be missing.  Usually
the vehicle booklet lists the fuses and relays in a diagram, so you can see
which is which.

Do you have a fuse box under the hood directly in front of the power brake?

And is it a factory wire trailer harness?

If so the 12 volts may be what is labeled "Stud #1" in the upper left
corner of the box.  Stud #2 is usually the power brake.

My 2004 Sierra came with a plastic plug in the Stud 1 fuse location.  I
had to go buy a 30 amp fuse to fit it.

This was the case with my Silverado, too.  It wouldn't surprise me that the
same holds true for the TrailBlazer.

GM has used that Stud for power for a long time.

I wonder how they control the production line for what to include.  Some
trucks came with a fuse and a brake control cable in a bag in their
glove box.  I had to buy both but I wanted the Tekonsha GM cable anyway.

Then to make it a bit more confusing the owners manual has the note:

Stud 1  “Auxiliary Power (Single Battery and Diesels only)/ Dual battery
(TP2) Do not install fuse”

I have dual battery but it is Diesel.

I found the answer today. Facing the fuse block on the engine on the
left side look for a large red wire tucked under the cable wrapping.
It should have a spade lug at the end. This wire attaches to the open
stud on the front of the fuse box assembly. If anyone needs a better
explanation I'll send them a picture of it.. Can't miss it..

Called "Stud #1", Right?

Do you also have a "Stud #2"?
If you hook up a controller for electric brakes you normally would use
"Stud #2" to supply power for it.

It actually wasn't called anything. The diagram on the inside of the
cover makes no mention of that location. I was only told to look for
the large red wire with a spade connector tucked away and connect it
to the open stud post.  Not labled or mentioned in documentation at
all that I could find.

I don't remember what my 98 truck said about it but I do remember that
it had two auxiliary studs.   I had to dig under the power brake unit to
find the wires for the 12 volt power.  Perhaps I ran a new wire from
Stud 2 to the power brake.

My 2004 Sierra came pre-wired to both Stud 1 and 2.  But as I said Stud
1 didn't come with a fuse but Stud 2 did.  Did your trailblazer come
with a factory harness?

How about electric brakes?  I suppose all you had to do was plug in a
brake control.

If so where is the fuse for the brakes?  It should be in the same box.

My Trailblazer came with factory harness. I bought it used last year.
My dealer wired in the braked controler when I bought the camper. I
assume the fuse for the brakes is in the same box, yes.

I think so.  Look for another post similar to the one for the 12 volts.

As I remember on both my '98 and '04 the 12 volt fuse is somewhat on the
upper left and the Brake on the upper right.  On the '98 the posts were
visible but on the 04 they are kind of hidden under the box.  But they
are marked something like Aux 1 and 2.
