This is just "great".   :(

I finally filtered (kill-filed) our most recent, and annoyingly persistent and
prolific, cross-posting troll.

Once done, and I re-filtered the group, there were NO messages.   <sigh>

C'mon!  This is Sunday morning and I'm sitting here, drinking coffee, just
dying to at least READ about something that interests me.  Of course, CAMPING
is one of my FEW truly "big" interests.

Have you winterized your camper yet, if it's even necessary?

That is what I must do today, once and for all.  I was going to do it last
weekend, following our last campout, but you know how things get put off.

Then there's my good friend, Karl Lindholm.  He stores his big, new Fleetwood
popup INSIDE his garage.  I don't recall if he winterizes it or not since his
garage is unheated but, since it is part of the house and faces south,  may
never truly freeze.

Our last outing, despite amidst a "beehive", was GREAT!  The weather for
October couldn't have been better.  I arrived a couple days early and leveled
the camper in one of the most difficult, off-level site I have ever chosen.
It was a primitive, undefined "site" of my choosing, so whatever work was done
was done at my behest.

I have two sets of EZ Ramp leveling blocks comprising 20 blocks.

<http://static.flickr.com/102/276119723_2d1fda2157_o.jpg>

After this difficult leveling experience, I plan to get another set of ten,
possibly even two more sets.  Although they aren't nearly as tough as my nice
set of handmade, wood leveling blocks, they are much lighter and, with the
carrying bag, more easily transported.

Two outings ago, while I was in the final stages of breaking camp, my
son-in-law was holding his 19-month-old daughter at the picnic table.  My wood
blocks found their way back to the table but hadn't yet been packed away.  The
little girl and her dad had a good time playing with them.

What do you take with you for leveling your camper and picnic tables?

I sure hate to see the season end.  Every fall I feel a twinge of jealousy of
those that live in those areas where one can camp year-round.  Are you in one
of those places?  Have a GREAT day!

My Fleetwood Niagara is tucked away in my heated garage
where it will stay until probably next May. It got down to 30F
overnight, so it is a good thing that it is in a heated garage.

That is the single best thing about having a pop-up. It can be stored
away from the snow and ice and extreme winter cold that can crack
things.

I really do not like it at all when it gets too cold to go camping, but
that is just the way it is when you live far enough north to see
temperatures well below freezing.

We don't get out as often as I'd like, but we went to Anastasia State Park
for the weekend a few weeks ago. Weather was great. We got to walk on the
beach on a clear evening with a full moon and big waves. The kids were
impressed.

The season for me has not ended.  I live in the west where camping
season is year round.  In the hot summers I drive a couple hours to the
cool mountains to camp.  In the winters when the mountains are buried in
snow I camp in the cool deserts or beach areas.  Love it!!

Good job.  Remember the most important thing: do not feed the troll.

Nope.

Never got the camper out this year.  :(

In April, I did this:

Then in September, I did this:

So this was wasn't all bad.

I am not a radiologist, but I play on on Use(less)net<tm>...

Ouch.  That doesn't look very good.   :(

I'm not a fatalist, but I play one on Use(less)net<tm>...

Ouch.  That doesn't look very good.    :(

Seriously, I hope you are mending well and wish for you many years of wedded
bliss.  Congratulations.  I can't think of two, BETTER reasons to leave a
camper parked for a season.

You can blame me.  I thought OJ was a troll, but I gave him the benefit
of the doubt, and this time I was wrong.

There weren't many to begin with.

What does everyone use for a newsreader?  I've been getting with Outlook
Express...but it doesn't have a kill-file option to dump some of the idiots
who have started camping out here.

The last time I was faced with such a situation, I just moved on.  Problem
with that group is that the regulars thought it quite appropriate to spew
about politics constantly.

I'd like to stick around here...

Actually it is Tools, Message Rules, News.

Actually it is both.

Not if you want to do a good job of filtering.

I use Thunderbird.  It's free and handles email and newsgroups with ease.

Outlook Express has had filtering going back for quite a
few versions.

You are correct, it is quite normal to discuss anything we want to
on rec.outdoors.rv-travel.

Yeah.  Even RV travel on rare occasions.

LOL...  Tis a shame though...seems like there are some good knowledgeable
folks there.  And it takes a good bit to run me off too...

Anyway...  Thanks for the tips guys.  I'll have to check out Thunderbird.
And if nothing else, I now know about some features I hadn't thought to look
for in OE...
