We bought a starter camper, a 2002 coleman sedona, and need some info
on lighting the gas furnace and lighting the frig.  We want to do some
backwoods camping and cannot find the instructions. A manuel for this
would be nice...any help appreciated

Thanks

Got a model for the furnace and frig?  Someone might have one they can
make a copy.

Bryant RV has some on-line:

You might also read about the refrigerator, how it works and how it
should be used.  For example it should be in a near level condition (or
moving) when in use.  The ammonia can puddle, crystallize and plug up
the unit if not level.

Your furnace is probably nothing more than turning on the gas and
turning up the thermostat.  You must have a battery hooked up.

If your furnace is like ours (2000 Coleman Bayside), there are three
things you need.
1) Hook up & turn on the propane (there needs to be propane in the tank
- BTDT).
2) Turn on the switch on the face of the furnace.  This switch is uder
the faceplate.  We can turn it on and off with a screwdriver stuck
through the fins, but can't tell if it's on or off without removing the
cover.
3) Turn on and adjust the thermostat.  There is a small switch on the
underside of our thermostat that has to be turned on.

It takes perhaps 15 seconds for the blower to come on, then another 15
before the burner comes on.  Noticeable heat takes perhaps another
15-30 seconds.

One other thing with the furnace...and also with the 'fridge.  I think
it helps those appliances ignite faster if you first open the gas and
ignite the burners on your stove, because it flushes the air out of the
lines.  Otherwise, it can take forever to ignite the 'fridge, and the
furnace can click through a couple of cycles trying to ignite until
there is gas in the lines.

Assuming the 'fridge is a 3-way...AC/DC/Gas, to run on either AC or DC
you simply turn the switch to the power of your choice...I ONLY use DC
while on the road.  To operate the 'fridge on gas, there should be
instructions printed on the rear of the 'fridge.  It's kind of a
pain...you have to turn it ON and press the switch DOWN, while rapidly
pushing the reg ignitor button until the pilot light inside the metal
box (with the swing-away little door) ignites and stays lit.  Then close
the little door, and set the temp controller to your preference.  The
temp controller only works on gas...AC or DC is a set temperature.  HINT
- BEFORE you try to light the gas pilot, open that little door, look
inside there with a flashlight, and make sure there isn't a spider web
or other bug crap making a mess and keeping the pilot from lighting.
