I have an older Starcraft that still in great condition. Not long
after I bought it, it received hail damage on the roof, in some cases
actually penetrating the aluminum skin (not severe, but it was there).
And of course many little craters from the hail. Dealing with the
insurance ended up in having a rubber sheet like material installed
over the existing roof. Well, it's been many years now, and it's
showing its age. So, to get to the point, is there anything that
anyone can recommend to clean it with? I've tried washing, but there
is still some discoloration. It's still weather proof though, no
leaks so far, but it has been on there for quite a number of years.

Comet cleanser. Dishwashing soap. Any good car was cleaner. Soap
and water.

I agree and will add: Simple Green.
My neighbor recommended this to me some years ago and I'm sold: It works
GREAT!

Haven't tried Comet, but did try soap and water as well as an "RV
wash". I'll give the simple green a try too.
Thanks

You might also try Greased Lighting.

I tried the simple green today, and it works OK, but I don't really
see a significant improvement over plain soap and water. It removed
most of the surface dirt, etc., but there are some grey circular
"stains" (mildew maybe??) that it doesn't touch. Nor does anything
else I've tried. Maybe a weak bleach solution?

Our hybrid has the a rubber roof and the mfr. (Fleetwood) recommends "any
non-abrasive household cleaner" and either a sponge or fiber scrub brush for
the tough spots. Our dealer recommends (and sells :-) special cleaners and
UV protectants. BTW Wally World sells a all-in-one product that does a
satisfactory job of cleaning ....no way to tell about the protecting.

I recommend lots of elbow grease.
