It's all about wheelbase, then horsepower. I believe the Grand Cherokee rides
on a longer wheelbase than the Wrangler. A mere, FEW inches longer makes a
BIG difference when towing.
> Funny thing is that we moved from Jeep to Ford F150, the opposite of you.
You moved in the opposite direction, but to a tow vehicle more suited for your
needs. The F250 was overkill for the OP. Downsizing to a Jeep Wrangler,
however, is nearer the other end of extreme.
> The long wheelbase and heavy truck really pull better in my opinion.
That fact has been proven over and over again.
> Just take it easy.
He'll have no other choice.
Don't worry about any panic stops or accident avoidance maneuvers, either.
The OP won't be making any of these - successfully.

A wrangler is only rated for 1000 lbs. towing capacity.

Now Jim, did you expect any other response from soneone who goes by
"nobodyhome1"?

Hehehehe! :)
I honestly wonder if we were trolled? I mean, that is almost the equivalent
of welding a fifthwheel platform to the top my 3-cyl Geo Metro and dropping a
big fiver on it.
We really need a simple, straightforward FAQ:
- If you have to ask, you CAN'T!
...or at least probably SHOULDN'T.
I worked today and drove past a state rec area. There were perhaps a dozen
big RVs that I saw camping - or "camping". I have yet to blow out the pink
stuff from my camper. The last a "ten-year blizzard" melted only a few days
ago. Mother Nature's last winter "hurrah", I hope.
Still, I am dying to get out there and away from home. To me, that's probably
the biggest "thing" about camping: Simply getting away from home. Whether
it's done in a tent, tent trailer or Taj-Mahal-On-Wheels, getting away from
home is such a treat - and has always been for me.
