Can any one tell me a good place to find a tail light to match the
original one from the factory for a 1984 Starcraft Starflyer?

One side doesn't work.  Both did work, but the camper has not been
used for a couple of years and the connections were a little
corroded.  I'm going to try cleaning them a little more, but I'm not
sure that's going to work.

This isn't our camper, but here is a picture of one very similar if
not the same as ours.  The lights for sure are the same:  href="http://

paste the link because my html is a little rusty.

These folks would probably be a good place to start...

Personally, if one is shot the other may not be far behind...I'm looking to
replace the factory set on my pop-up with leds...just like the big
trucks...can't hardly see the turns or brakes with the running lights on
with the old bulb units...

actually, it now looks like possibly a wiring short, after get the
multimeter out.  BUT, here's another question-

after taking the light away from the camper, it sure looks like they
used plumber's putty as a sealant.  anyone ever heard of this?  could
it be anything else?  That's the only thing I could think of that
would still be pliable after all these years.  For sure it is NOT
silicone or caulking.

My guess is that it's butyl "putty" tape.  Pretty much the universal
gasket on any exterior items on a rv.  About $4 for a 20 ft roll at
any rv parts store.
