Hi folks,

I need help hitching as I'm a solo.

Any experience with Hind-Sight or SureShot camera systems?  Does anybody know where I might find a wireless system?  I'm not a good DIY person.

I'm open for any suggestions.

Don't know if you're using a popup or what?? makes a big
difference....

Also, what type of tv you're using?

We have a TT and pull it with a ram pickup.... in our case, if I put
the hitch crank at it's highest point and back straight at it, lining
the center notch of the bed liner on the tailgate, I'm usually right
on 1st try..

Most TV's have some sort of reference point to use nd it makes things
a lot easier..
Aside from hitch mirrors and other things that can be a hassle, your
best bet is to work out an "aiming system" and practice until it's
natural...

I've gotten to where it's almost harder having someone guide me in!
YMMV

One method is to place a short piece of black (or red, or some bright
color) tape in the center of the front of the trailer that you can see
from the inside rear view mirror.  Then, while backing, you can align
the center of the inside rear view mirror with the center of the back
seats with the center of the rear window (of the tow vehicle) with the
tape on the trailer.  When everything is aligned, begin backing the
tow vehicle.  So what if you have to stop and get out 2 or 3 times to
check on it.  Keeping the tounge jack handle straigh up helps too.
That is one way to do it.
Another method is to buy 2 round magnets, or square ones, about 1 1/2
to 2 inches in diameter with holes in the center.  These look just
like washers with small holes in them.  Then screw 1/2 inch dowel
sticks in them.  Each stick should be 24 to 30 inches long.  Paint
them bright red or yellow, or one of each color.  Place one magnet on
top of the trailer hitch cup (on the trailer), and the other on the
trailer ball of the tow vehicle.  Begin backing and keeping the sticks
lined up, and with the center of the rear view mirror.  When the two
sticks meet, you should be OK.  A couple of practice sessions at home
will help a lot.
If this is not clear enough, email me, with Trailer alignment as the
topic, so I wont call it spam, and I'll find a web site for you.

I saw a thing on Ebay that was almost like that... pretty clever
thing:

2 white plastic dowels with straps for ball mount and hitch, with
tennis balls on the top...
I guess you set it up when hitched, so the tennis balls are inline and
touching, then mark where it straps..

As far as I could tell, you take them off after hitching..

Before you back up, you strap them on ...
you're aligned  just right (in theory) when the balls are lined up and
touching..

I mounted an old 4 ft long CB antenna on the tongue of the trailer one time
when wife and friends were using it on a trip. She had no trouble backing
right up to once she had a reference she could see.
