I finally did it!  I drove off with the TV antenna up and now I need a
replacement.  Anyone out there that can compare the reception of the RS-2000
to the standard Winegard amplified bat wing?

Unless I've missed something along the way, the RS-2000 **IS** the
standard amplified batwing!

It looks as though you may have missed something:

The batwing jobs can be found:

I'm interested to learn of any performance differences.  Adjusting my batwing
is kind of a hit-or-miss operation at best.  If the omnidirectional antenna is
a significant improvement, I would consider a swap.

Hi,
Normally omnidirectional antennas are worse then an antenna that can
be turned to point to and tune in a station.  Because they are
receiving signals from 360 degrees and can't focus on just one.

They both seem to use the same amplifier,  as the gains are about the
same for both antennas.  I do not think they would be any better,
maybe even worse.  That's from fooling around with TV's and antenna's
when my father had a shop years ago and from messing with radio
antennas.  Course I never had one either so it's jus IMO... :)

Of course on the good side you wouldn't have to worry about driving
off with your TV antenna up :)

Take care and Happy Campin...
