Not up here in New England. Very much alive and well. Campers everywhere you
look.  If anything I think there is an increase in the number camping. The
number of campgrounds appears to be slowly increasing also.

Not in my opinion.  My parents started RVing in the late 60's and eventually
sold their home and spent 6 months in Texas and 6 months in Ontario
(Canada).  They did this until they were in their 80's.  I started RVing in
my 30's and I'm over 60 now and we are on our 4th RV a C class motorhome.
When I was single I used a Class B but in 87 we started out towing with a
Boler and a Chevy S10.  Went to a 23 ft 5er then a Class A Landyacht, which
I didn't like.  Now we have a 30' Sunseeker and the only thing I would
improve is adding slides.

My daughter is now Rving as well.  Moving up from a Roo to a 5er.

I think it grows in families and I also think since families grow, so does
Rving.

I have been camping all the last 30 years or so, starting in 1967 to
be exact, and I can tell you from camping all over North America, that
there has been no decline in any faucet of camping.

Today the campgrounds offer more value for less comparable dollar than
ever. Campsites are also readily available in most locations except
for a few high demand days. I have seen times in the past when a
campsite wouldn't be available for days, and some places, for weeks.

The RVs themselves are on average, just as well made as ever, and for
sure have more accessories to make camping more enjoyable. There is
also a wider choice of options in body styles to suit most every need,
from wheel chair handling to motorized "TOY" hauling. There are even
models available that your auto can be driven inside!!

The one big improvement is roads to get you to where you want to go.
There is now, and always has been, constant repair to roads somewhere,
and it may seem it's always where you are traveling, but the roadways
are wider, straighter and overall have fewer pot holes.

I just don't see why you think RVing has declined??? That is what you
think from the form of the question, right?

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy sh.t...what a ride!"

The OP may well be a troll, but this newbie found Tom's reply interesting.

Why not just come out and start with the fundy preaching and your usual
anti-sex dribble..or are you trying your best to be accepted before
starting off with the proselytizing?

And then tell them about the abortion you forced on that poor underaged
broad you knocked up?

Don't really know but the CE campgrounds around here are near empty as
compared to last year.

(as more evil snickers emanate from ken's PC desk)

Dave operate a real PC?   Yeah RIGHT!

It took him years to learn just how to CCP with his wannabe webtv
terminal....I have it on good authority from other members of the "We
All Hate Dave Club" that any PC of his would be completely useless
within a week
