I read in a previous post about cell phone signals around major cities (both of them) in Alaska. Anybody know whether or no I'll be able to get a cell phone signal in and around Skagway? I have Cingular, but I understand that where the towers are nearby all the services can get the signal??? Thanks. I talked to a fellow in Skagway who was using Cingular just fine. Verizon doesn't work. Was in Skagway last year. As I recall the steepness of the area meant that the signal worked in some places, but not others - and this was for verizon. There are also places in Skagway, here in Seward, and elsewhere, where you can pay a couple of bucks and use their computer to send a little email.
