The cable comes into the house. It splits from there to the motorhome, the
rental, and various lines into tvs in the main house. All the tvs work but
the one. It works, but the channels are snowy. I have checked all the
obvious, connections, etc. I just thought if there was a signal strength
test that I could find out the weak link.
Anyway, I got to go to Cedar City in the morning, and I'll fool with it when
I get back.

Have you tried that TV on another cable line to verify that it's not
the TV that's causing the problem? Just a thought.

Sounds like you already have it narrowed down to two things:
1) The TV with the bad picture
2) The cable leg that TV is connected to
Try moving the TV to another cable connection or run another piece of cable
from a TV that has a good picture to the TV that doesn't.

Steve,
I still don't know if it's going directly into the TV. Where does the
cable go to in the motorhome?
A splitter? A connection on the side of the TV?
*If* the cable goes to a connection, be sure the power booster is OFF.
The power booster is at one of the TV locations, living room or
bedroom.
There's a little red light, and below it a switch that needs to be
off.

Another thought Steve, if the picture is snowy it can be a dirty connection.
I have often had good luck with disconnecting and gently rubbing a knife on
the core piece of the coax to get to fresh non-oxidized copper and reconnect
snugly. I usually do both ends.

Thanks. That sounds like something plausible. There has to be SOME signal
coming in because the channels are snowy but sequential. When the cable is
just out, you just get 3,5,8, etc.
Will try cleaning and a dab of vaseline. That works for an amazing variety
of problems at this age...........
We just got home from Cedar. We will know by Tuesday night if our offer on
the cabin has been accepted. It is seven miles east of downtown Cedar City
off 14. After going up there, and enjoying that scenery and cool air,
almost the last thing on my mind is television.
Then, my hard drive on one of my computers is fried, I believe. LOTS AND
LOTS of unbacked up files. This is coming to you on a laptop, which I hate,
but is the only computer I have that is configured for this.
It's always something .... Roseanne Roseannadanna
Right now, it's just catchup. And wait for a phone call.
