For almost 20 years now I've towed with a plain, fixed, A-frame type of tow
bar (a Reese Tow Champ)..............now I'd like to upgrade to the type of
towbar that folds up after towing and then remains on the receiver of my
coach.

There are several on the market and with all of their individual features I
want to make sure that I get the best one for my needs.

I'd like to get the recommendations of this group.........my first concern
is RELIABILITY and the second is convenience.

I'll be using it with both a Jeep Wrangler and a Jeep Liberty..........The
Wrangler is already set up to tow and the Liberty needs baseplates and I'm
thinking Blue Ox  plates for this application.

Thanks.........

I bought a used Blue Ox and it seems as solid as you would need....very easy
to connect and well made....though it is NOT light...maybe a good thing!!!

For you comment to help the OP, you need to say what _model_ of Blue Ox
you regard as heavy.

I am towing a Malibu using a Demco base plate and towbar. They work just
fine. For my application, the Demco base plate was the simplest to install.

In case you're interested, I just purchased a new Demco Excalibar tow bar
and base plate shipped direct from the factory for a total of $601 including
shipping from these folks http://www.kansasrvsupplies.com/autowba.html  Unit
just arrived yesterday.  Great price and service.
