My wife and I have been contemplating the purchase of an RV for several
months. At first, she was intent on buying a motor coach... mainly because
several of her co-workers have them. She was dead set against fifth wheels.
A trip to a big RV show (Hershey PA) changed that, though. Now she's
interested in both. It's like being caught in a drea mworld where there are
no definite amswers.
Here's the question: As I have studied motorcoaches and talked to dealers,
I've noticed that 25 per cent off the MSRP is the normal starting point.
From there, pricing might progress to 40 per cent off, depending on whether
it's a 2005 and maybe how long the unit has been at the dealer.
In the world of fifth wheels (especially high end 39 to 40 foot models)
there doesn't seem to be as much consistency in discounting... and the same
is true for haulers. I would appreciate any practical advice regarding real
price vs. MSRP for these vehicles.

You should be able to get at least %25 off on the FW also. You just
have to bargain a little harder.
As for the hauler, you should be able to get great deals on a 1 ton
diesel p/u. The way fuel prices are, they aren't the best selling
thing on the dealers lots right now. If you are talking about a MD
hauler, 450/550 4500/5500 or even the Internationals or a
Freightliner, then you won't do much wheeling and dealing there. The
prices are pretty much fixed on those.
