I just received my Good Sam mag and in it is advertised something called a
Road Whiz.
It says you can locate 80,000 services along interstates including
campgrounds, food, gas, motels, 24 hr food, 24 hr gas, diesel, rest areas
hospitals and malls.
Has anyone used one or know of someone who has and can tell me if it's worth
the $25 price US?
It sounds great but i don't want to be had either.

Waste of time and money. Buy a paper directory, they are much easier
(and faster) to use (and won't run out of battery).

Any program or device that cannot be up dated is not worth it. In
fact can be more hindrance than help. One trip to a referenced
location that is no longer in business will show you what I am
talking about. I acquired one of those interstate information
electronic devices and checked some things out, found it was far out
of date even before I bought it.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago. At that time it was a good
idea. However, updating it requires it to be mailed back to the
manufacturer to have the rom reflashed. I shelved the unit and am now
using a low end laptop with MS Streets & Trips with GPS. Has all the
info you would need, plus it's updateable. As a bonus, with a wi-fi
card, you can find places to get your email.

That's good advice. Thanks

Golly... Motorhomes make whizzing more private 'cause you don't have
to go
outiside. ;-)
