Has anyone out there tried to manually point a High Definition Direct
TV dish yet while RVing? Is it more difficult than a standard dish to
pull in signals?

Depends what you are looking for.. Some HD channels are on the original sat
and don't need an HD specific dish.. Some of the other HD channels are on a
second sat and need a dual LNB/skew.

While not doing it for HD, I have used the 3lnb dish many times on a
tripods.  As longs as you get the top portion of the mounting shaft
perpendicular, it's fairly easy.  There is a small plastic gadget that
goes in the end of the mounting pipe that holds a bubble level.  Get
that centered and it's a snap.

Skew is easily set, then worry about pointing.
