Can anyone suggest a name and model of some middle to high end RV's in
the 36 to 40 ft. range? Plus is there a special license needed? I'm a
newbie and would like to start traveling the US in about three years
when the wife retires.
Thanks

I'd suggest you start by looking at Winnebago (and their sister brand,
Itasca) http://www.winnebagoind.com
They have a generally good reputation, and appear to be roughly in the
middle of the price range. There are numerous other manufacturers, and
you'll hear differing
stories about which ones are good, and which ones are not-so-good. My
recommendation is to listen to as many people as possible in order to get as
wide a range of opinions as possible and to visit as many different RV
dealers and RV shows as possible in order to increase your knowledge base.
