I have a Kohler Confidant 4.  My problem is that it will run as long as
there is no load on it more than a few lights.  When it dies I can wait just
about a minute and restart it again, however as soon as a load is applied it
will die.

If you have any ideas that would help, please let me know and post back to
this site in case someone else has this problem.

Thanks,

Bill Sanders

I heard a story about Will and his lapdog Frank.

A few weeks ago they went deep into the woods, searching for a
Christmas tree.

After hours of subzero temperatures and a few close calls with hungry
wolves, Will turned to Frank and said, "I'm chopping down the
next tree I see. I don't care whether it's decorated or not!"

I wonder how they did on the rest of their shopping. They can't help it
because when the good lord was handing out brains they thought he said
trains and they only took one so both could use it at the same time. ;-)

Throttle governor not advancing to accommodate the load?????

Mixture set for high altitude/lean.

My best guess is, the engine is starving for fuel when the extra load
is applied.  Could be for numerous reasons including main jet set for
high altitude.  Would check for fuel filter and fuel line problems

Ditto; fuel filter

Check for water in fuel bowl too because at part throttle it is running
on idle circuit and when power is applied it draw fuel from bottom of
bowl and water does not pass through jets easily and can choke off fuel
supply.

You may have water in your fuel filter. The throttle governer may be
sticking. The oil level could be low. One of the plugs could be fouled.

My Kohler Confidant has been very reliable.
