I'm at my wits end.  My Onan Microlite 2800 is surging.  I've run
about a gallon of gas/carburetor cleaner through it by dipping the
fuel line in an external container & I've even sprayed cleaner in the
venturi.  I did this every day for 2 weeks.

There are two factory service centers in the Dallas area.  The closest
appointment I can get is 6 weeks out.

Has anyone had a good experience with an independent Onan generator
mechanic in this area?

Thanks!

Post your question over in rec.outdoors.rv-travel, there is an Onan
expert that posts there and will help you out.

Thanks.  I thought that group was more for travel related posts.

Not really.  This group is kind of a bastard group that catches a lot
of posts by folks that don't know how to find the group they want in
the Big 8.

One caveat, there are a tremendous number of off topic post because
folks like to shoot the breeze while waiting for RV posts.  Filter on
OT in the subject line and you will clear a lot of the clutter out.

Check with the local RV dealers and see if one (or more) of them have an
Onan Fixer on staff.

You might also want to check with the Camping World people on I-35 north of
Dallas.

Have you tried "Parker Power" in Carrollton?  They're more of a
commercial repair center but they will work on RV units--they replaced a
part and tuned my Onan last spring and it's still purring even with my
"oh my gosh I haven't run the gen in months" approach.  972-484-9044.

Thanks Jud,

Parker isn't too far from me.  They had a long wait the last time I
called, but it would have been my turn already if I'd gotten on the
list.
