Bought a 2005 GS Friendship G7 not long ago (first diesel pusher) and am
frustrated by both GS and Freightliner manuals. I am going to Freightliner
dealer for a couple of problems in about 3 weeks, but would like advice
before that, if anyone has any.

I can find neither the separator for diesel fuel (definitely not in the
compartment shown in Freightliner manual) to drain moisture as recommended,
nor can I find the drains for the air tanks.  In fact, I can't locate the
air tanks... although I haven't crawled under the motorhome to look.

It's got air brakes, so I know they're there somewhere...

I don't own such a rig, but do have experience with Freightliner. Most
likely the separator in the fuel line is in the engine compartment.
What you should look for is a filter in the fuel line that look
similar to an oil filter, but most likely larger. On the bottom of
this is where you'll find the water drain. That filter needs changing
regularly also. As far as draining the air tanks, I can't imagine that
rig not having automatic drain valves installed. That was standard on
Freightliner chassis in the early '90s.
