We are planning an Easter trip to Washington D.C..  Wondering if you folks
have any suggestions where to stay.  We have previously stayed at Cherry
Hill and it was nice but a little on the pricey side.  Any other
suggestions?

We stayed at a National Park ( name escapes me ) north of town for $13.
They had no electric, water or sewage.  It was the first time we boondocked!
We are much more prepared to boondock now.

How close to DC do you need to be?  Harper's Ferry, WV has a KOA that
we stayed in a few years ago.  I think that would be within an hour of
DC.

We stayed at a Virginia county park more recently near Mount Vernon
called Pohick Bay Regional Park.  That was real nice and closer to DC -
well within an hour.  They had water and electric and a dump.

I don't know your reason for visiting DC, but Mount Vernon in the
Spring should be a nice attraction.

We are heading there to visit our son.  He is interning with a senator for
the semester.  So, we don't need to be right on top of DC.  We are just
looking to be in the area so we can see the sights and spend a little time
with him.

Then Pohick Bay would be a great choice.  We were really impressed with
the park.  It was far enough away to be peaceful yet convenient to the
city.  The setting on a bay of the Potomac on a peninsula was
beautiful.  We want to go again.

Try Prince William Forest Park Trailer village small but nice good Sam
discount.  I have stayed there 5 weeks over the last 4 years.  Just south of
DC near Dumfries Va  go up interstate about 15 miles to Franconia
Springfield metro station parking garage.  Traffic is bad on Interstate at
rush hour but ok rest of time.  Park has small sites paved nice bathroom
pool and laundry  very quiet no fires.
