I got my bill for RV Roadhelp for $99.95. Of course, I moaned a
little, but, well, everything goes up. So, I set the bill aside and it
promptly slipped my mind. I didn't give it another thought till I got
another bill saying that my coverage had lapsed February something and
I would need to pay it immediately if I wanted to reinstate it. To
expedite it, I thought I would see if I could pay it on-line .
Then I discovered that the same product can be bought for $79.95
on-line. That kind of offended me . . . that a new customer could buy
it cheaper. I've been with them for 12 years (haven't had a claim in
10). So, I called customer service and complained.
The nice lady (sounded like she is in India) put me on hold for a few
minutes and came back on to tell me that she would discount my bill to
$81.95. That raised my blood pressure.
I said, "NO, I will not pay you one dime more than a new customer off
the street. I will give you $79.95 and if you can't do that then
cancel my contract and I will go shopping elsewhere."
Back on hold I went for about one more minute. When she came back this
time she offered me the service for $76.95. That accounts for the time
the coverage had lapsed and she will invoice me for that amount and
reinstate me as of today.
Blood pressure is back to normal.

I hope your blood pressure does not rise when you need to file a claim... Al

Next year it will be back up to$ 99.95 again. They use the lower price
to attract new customers. All the road help servcies that I know about
do the same thing. If you want a deal you should buy the service for 3
years or longer, that way you save a little. Not as much as a new
customer though.. Or just switch between the 3 major services every
year and apply as a new customer. RV Roadhelp, CoachNet (best IMO),
and the one Good Sam uses, there are others too. Also check with your
RV insurance company, many have roadside assistance as a benefit or it
may be able to be added for a lower cost.
Not something to get your blood pressure up about for sure :)
Take care and Happy Campin...
