Join us the weekend of May 12-14 at Chilliwack B. C. For those that don't
know, the PNWCO's have become a regular event up here in the PNW with RORT
friends from all over coming for the experience.
It is fun and everyone always seems to bring fabulous food. It is always a
great way to meet our newsgroup members.

I will also remind you that your company is welcome at these campouts
regardless of political orientation and we expect everyone to leave
political differences at the gate, as has always been the case. Everyone has
been great at these get-togethers and it is always a fun time.  It sure is
fun to place a face with the persons you read on the NG.

Chilliwack RV Park is east of Vancouver B. C.  On Trans Canada Highway, and
halve way between Harrison Hot Springs and Chilliwack B. C. In addition,
there are many interesting things to do and see in the immediate area from
Minter Gardens to Bridal Falls or Harrison Hot Springs that would prove to
be pleasant and interesting port of call. Moreover, for Golf lover the RV
Park is surrounded by the Falls Golf and Country Club, and ordinarily that
would sound pricy however the cost incl. taxes is $ 24.15 or about $ 20.00
US with full hookup.

Please visit our campout website at http://pnwco.rvlover.com/  Please email
me at rudy at memotronic dot com for reservations or Ben at rvlover dot com
if you decide to join us and we will add you to the web page, or just visit
our forum listed at the above web site if you have questions or want to join
in.

Last time we had 10 rigs from this group and at this point, we have 10 rigs
confirmed to attend this one, more are welcome and encouraged.  I hope you
think of joining us. Considering this one is hosted in Canada I would also
like to extend a special invitation to posters from Canada, particularly the
lower mainland to join us and to meet some of your neighbors'. There is
always a potluck on Saturday afternoon and there will be a coffee-social on
Saturday morning.

Please stop by the website, check out past camping trips (pictures
available) and make your reservation to join us!

I look forward to seeing all you PNWCO'ers

Regards Rudy

All well said, Rudy.

On another note, we also make it a bit more fun for those that have FRS
radios. You can hear the ramblings of the attendees on channel 6. We
have a lot of fun with the radios from early morning until bedtime, on
and off. Some just listen, others join in, but in any case, it is a
means to know what the group is planning as far as dinner or walks, or
just for general chit-chat when the inclination arises. Some don't have
FRS radios but most of the regulars do now. Just leaving the radios on
all day is standard practice.

Rudy & Gerri started a tradition years ago of going out to dinner on the
first (Friday) night at a local restaurant. It's always an option but as
the years past, more people have opted to go. Last campout most everyone
went to dinner Friday night and car pooled (see, we are environmentally
friendly!).

In any case, it's always a lot of fun. Some arrive a day or two early
and leave a day or two late. Interesting enough, comradery of the group
is huge even though many come from different backgrounds (politically
and religiously) since we try to stay off those subjects. These
get-togethers have gotten more enjoyable each time. If you are a newbie
joining, you'll feel comfortable. If you are shy, just listen to FRS to
break the ice.

Looking forward to seeing the regulars there and hope we get new
attendees too!

Ben

Ben,

I still want to attend one of these affairs (this won't be the one).  You
might want to check and see if use of the FRS frequencies is legal in
Canada.

Yeah, when you attend, I'll show you why boiled hotdogs are better than
BBQed. ;-)

Anyway, maybe Rudy can shed some light on the legalities of using FRS in
Canada?

Thanks for the head-up Tex.

I found this link and thought I'd read up on FRS for those of us in
Canada most of the time - even though 3/4ths of the family are
Americans :-)

Thanks for the info, Rudy and Ben - we will know later if we can make
it to this in May.

You are certainly welcome to partake, as it is open to anybody wanting to
have a good time. Our new motto is the more the merrier.

Legal in Canada since April, 2000.  Illegal in all other foreign
countries, though.

Ah no, certain frequencies are legal in Mexico for one. I'm certain if
I dug I would find others. But one should NEVER assume that a radio that
is legal in one country is legal in another.

Both FRS and GMRS are legal in Canada and are widely in use however, GMRS is
supposed to have a license to operate and nobody that I know actually
bothers getting one.
