Encountered a problem I hadn't considered. Getting 28frls 5th wheel ready
for trip to Vicksburg. Birds had built nests in back of pinbox. perfect
location. removed nests before they could lay eggs otherwise would have had
to wait them out. Next year Ill put a piece of hardware cloth over opening
in back of pin box in fall. You may want to check yours before they have a
chance to build there. Bill and Debbie

When I got ready to move from Puerto Penasco, I had to chase brids out
as they were trying to build a next in my pinbox.

Darn, a next in your pinbox. What'll be next, a nest?
Those spell checkers miss a lot.

My problem is that they only find misspelled words. They leave the
wrong word, when spelled correctly, alone. Maybe if they could check
spelling in context? (Did you notice that I also misspelled birds?)

I thought that was supposed to be brides. I couldn't figure out what brides
would be doing in a pinbox. <G>

Maybe if I could find a bride in my pinbox I wouldn't sleep alone. <g>

Ok, that's enough about brides and boxes and sleeping alone................

Birds are OK, but I have seen bees in there also...

That's actually quiet common. Birds are very opportunistic, and the bin
box is a pretty good place for them to hang out.

We have had that happen at home and often put a strip of duct tape over the
opening in the spring (have one there now). Two years ago after only a two
night stop in Twin Falls, ID we had to clean out nesting material. Those
birds found the pin box fast and went right to work!

So, that explains why I found quite a bit of weed material in the pin
box after our trip from Redmond, OR to Corvallis! Just got back
yesterday. I went to stuff the pig tail into the pin box and found the
weeds. Wondered how they could have ever gotten there.
Now I remember the starlings were pretty thick around the KOA and acted
like they were trying to nest in some of the trees.
When I get home tonight, I will check for nest material from our
starlings and then put some screen over the openings, if I can.
