Hello all that responded to Mike B's email. I am a friend of Mikes
that is going on the trip with him, please don't mistake our asking
about a "party" camp ground with blasting AC/DC at 3am, we have been
camping for many years now and are VERY respectful of nature, neighbors
and rules. We are just looking for a place to have our kind of fun,
that includes drinking and playing horse shoes etc. we had a small
issue last year with "Barney Fiffe" in a wisconsin state park, and
don't wish to have similar problems, we turn music off at the
appropriate hours and certainly can follow the rules, we just wanted
some advice if there are other people that want to do what we do, and
if they have found a pretty good place to do it?

Campground quiet time is quiet time...regardless if Barney Fife is the
enforcer or The Rock. Evidentally you weren't following the rules or you
wouldn't have had an issue. Every campground I frequent, be it state,
national or private is quite strict when it comes to campsite noise. I like
it that way. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of adults drinking, listening
to loud music and carrying on, I'll stay home and go to the sports bar.
That being said...if you *REALLY* want to have fun, visit Float-Rite Park on
the Apple River near Stillwater Minnesota / Hudson Wisconsin. Drinking and
raucous behavious is encouraged.

Hi,
Something doesn't sound right here. If you've been camping for many
years you should have a pretty good list of where you've been and what
you've done. Why not go back to the place you enjoyed the most? Or is
it that you've had Barney Fiffe problems more then you want to admit?
Campgrounds are usually for families many pubic and private campgrounds
don't allow alcohol and/or frown on folks who become loud and boisterous
or who play loud music even during the day. Adult only campgrounds are
usually even more strict.
If you've gone somewhere before and had a good time and didn't bother
anyone you should be welcomed back. That's where I would go rather then
taking a chance on encountering Barney Fiffe's or others who don't agree
with your idea of a good time.
Take care and Happy Campin...

If you had a problem with "Barney" is was your own doing. Most of the
"rules" in campgounds are in place to prevent problems. If you're covert in
your actions, e.g.-boozing it up, you don't have problems. Why not find a
place where you can boondock , away form people, and enjoy your party.

I won't pre-judge you like the others. I am only here to help. I know
wannabe cops can get a little overzealous.
Search for ATV campgrounds. They have very few rules. Ride ATV's all
night, party all night and everyone drinks and has fun.
Of course, if you are a fuddy-duddy, stay away.
