How to replace electric cap

The weather proof cap that covers the power cord opening to my TT has
broken off.  Got a replacement easily enough, but can;t figure out how
to remove the old one.  It seems to be attached to the outside of the
trailer with tamper proof nuts.  I got a specialty screwdriver tip
that fits, still nothing. They just spin.  Any ideas other than
grinding the heads off and starting over?

TIA

Very carefully, using a putty knife, work your way around the edge and
pry it off.  The sealant is probably holding it on, and the screws are
stripped.  You will have to turn it slightly to reinstall the new one so
that the holes don't line up.

Pulling the cap outward with the putty knife while turning the screws might
help. I've often been able to remove stripped srews that way because the
good threads take a bite again.
