Interesting policy they have. I use MS Streets and Trips as my mapping and
GPS program in the MH, but have nothing for the Honda. We're really tired of
being in strange towns, out sight seeing, and getting turned around, so we
decided to buy a GPS unit for the car.
Did a lot of research and finally decided on the Lowrance iWAY 350C for a
number of reasons, one of them being that it will do MP3 to the car or MH
radio using a built in FM Modulator,

The next step was finding the best price. I went to www.bizrate.com, did the
search, and it listed Abe's of Maine as the lowest price. $372 and change,
plus shipping. Good price, but I needed a little information, so I called
them. Got things cleared up, ordered the unit, gave them my billing address
and CC number, then told the guy I needed it shipped to the next location I
would be at. When he found out it was an RV park, he said they wouldn't ship
to any campground or RV park. Company policy. Said they've had "too many
fraudulent charges" from RV parks, and would not ship to any address that
was a campground or RV park. Period.
I called back and talked to another rep, asked about he policy to make sure
I had gotten it right. The second rep confirmed that Abe's would not ship to
an RV Park or campground, even with a CC charge that was confirmed.
That means that they do not want to do business with the offices of RV Parks
or campgrounds, or folks out on the road who need something shipped to their
route. That being their policy, I think we should help them. Spread the word
that Abe's of Maine prefers not to deal with the RV community, and if you're
up to it, send an email to info@abesofmain.com to let them know that we, the
RV community, won't be causing them any problems.
BTW, I bought the same unit at www.buydig.com for $6.00 more, but the 2/3
day shipping was $6.00 less, so the price was the same. buydig didn't care
where they shipped it. It was paid for.

You were lucky Abe's wouldn't take your order...They are well known for
fradulent practices and famous for "bait and switch". Abe's has probably the
worst record of any mail order camera store for customer satisfaction...and
has been proudly holding that record for many decades.
You were very lucky.

I'll second that. In fact Abe's is not in ME anymore as I understand
it.........in NY city.
You can see their rating here with reviews. Not so good.

Geez... That's petty! When we were in Connecticut last summer,
mail-order vendors routinely shipped to our RV parking address, which was
a 15 by 50 foot spot of grass located on the midway of an out-of-season
county fair, identifiable by a 4-digit number painted in white letters 3
inches high on the pavement in front of the site. The delivery dude had
to ignore the numbers painted in yellow, blue and green, because they
referred to a different midway layout.
Does this mean that people who park at county fairs are considered more
reliable than people who park at RV parks?
