On the Road Again! We've just traveled from California, across The
Lonliest Highway in America, US50 through Nevada, and over the
Continental Divide via the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 into Denver.

My travelogue and photos are here on my RV site. Feel free to visit -
and please let me know if you enjoyed the site. Well, let me know even
if you didn't. Gently.

I'll be adding notes and photos for the next couple of weeks.

That is an outstanding travel log! I thought I would return
to the ng just to make this statement. I also remember as a
kid where you took pictures of the lake Pontchartrain bridge
and commented it was one bridge and they built the second.
Well I remember when it was one and it was two lanes, one
each way. We would fish for crabs on the south approach
where it was a series of earthen islands or a series of bayous.
Now if any one is looking for me, I'll be on the CoachPotato
web page.

Hay! Dale, That was great but I had to go over and keep my
Vet buddies straight. Just a few things, I would not clean
that big bay windshield so good, I clicked on one picture
and could swear we were still moving.
Do the folks up in Iowa make the liquid corn like we do down
here. I guess you would call it Golden Buckle Corn.
The Turbines dwarfed your, relatively large MH. Wonder how
much power they actually get out of them.
That lonely stretch on US 50 and 85 did appear to be
endless. Something like the stretch across the south Texas
New Mexico Arizona rout.
Only thing, I tend to wonder about you, You have a Gamin GPS
and yet you comment "I THINK" this is the Illinois River.
Boy you better change the batteries in it, ;-)
Great travel log.

How long will you be in the 4 corners area. We will be in the Gunnison area
sometime around mid July.

Bill, thank you for your kind comments. I have fun with my two
homepages, both RVing and fishing. Too bad about the Pontchartrain
bridge, I saw photos showing it took a pretty hard hit from Katrina.
That Garmin GPS does not always show details such as landmark names
unless you zoom in pretty close, but often I don't  know just where I
am! I just came over the Rockies at the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 and
discovered that he Garmin couldn't handle more than four digits on the
elevation. So at 10,000 feet it quit working and it took awhile to
figure it out. At one point it froze up for the first time - I guess
because it couldn't calculate the 5 digits.

Bob, we'll be in Albuquerque in a week to 10 days I think, using the US
Highways and staying off the interstates as much as possible. But after
Albuquerque, we'll be heading for home on I-40.

Can't wait to hit the road in the morning. We've been in the kids'
driveway since Thursday and I'm getting very antsy to move on. We'll be
heading to Oklahoma and Arkansas this week.

We've been off line for days now. I just uploaded a pot full of new
photos and brought the travelogue up to date. Things haven't gone so
well today. Two repairs needed, one got done. Do I hafta run my
generator all the way home!?
