The Troll was somewhat out-of-date. <G>
Here's a part of the exchange:

Dream on, booby, dream on! <G>
Try measuring the stopping distance when towing a medium load [7 tons or
better] *without* using the trailer brakes and see what happens. <VBG>
Just to refute your slanderous troll, Troll, the front rotors are 13.2"
diameter and the rear rotors are 13.8" diameter - not the 10" that you
claimed.
Obviously you know nothing about trucks! <VBG>
Of course, you'd already proven that by trying to claim that a Nissan Titan
was a "Tow Vehicle". <VVBG>

Right on! I picked this Ram 1500 out of the pack of 4x4's that are on
most car lots. I didn't want or need a 4x4 and found, as I have in
years past, the 2 wheel drive ones are hard to find. It wasn't till
later I found a red '03 2500 quad cab 2 wheel drive equipped with a
Hemi, tow package and an SLT package. Probably could have gotten it
for not much more than the 1500. I wouldn't have gained anything in
towing power but would have gotten a stronger frame. As I wasn't going
to tow a 5th wheel, I figured I'd be okay with the trailer we have. I
haven't been wrong. This 1500 has a stronger frame, a much stronger
engine, an excellent transmission, four leaf rear springs, an
excellent well designed cooling system and an overall better package
than any of the standard 2500 pickups of a few years ago.
There is no comparison between this '03 Ram 1500 and the '02 Sierra
1500 I traded in on it <massive grin>.

You still haven't defined what a 'tow vehicle' is. There are trucks
from small to huge and trailers from small to huge. Buy whats needed to
do the job well. No need for massive overkill. Why do I need a 3/4 ton
CTD to tow my 24' 5,000lb trailer? A so called 1 ton 'tow vehicle' is
no match for one of the larger 5th wheels that are out these days. In
that regard those towing them would say the same thing about a 1 ton.
Just a toy for them. 1/2 ton trucks tow small TT's just fine.
However, I do shake my head at those that try to tow 30'ers with a 1/2
ton. Or worse, a large trailer with a Ford Explorer. People will try
anything, no thanks to the salesman's 'advice'!
