Anyone see the recent RV Today where they remodeled (really rebuilt) an
older Winnebago? Nice job--wonder if they REALLY did it in 72 hours--
that paint job alone looked like it would have taken that. Now whether
it actually RAN is another story :-)

Anyway, that slide is exactly what my 96 Allegro needs. Anybody heard of
anyone actually doing that kind of job or anyone who's had it done?
Opinions on Cost--Quality--Problems?

Jud,

I have seen vendors at FMCA conventions, etc. that offer slide
conversions.  Seems they were running something like $17K but not
sure.  Go to Charlotte in August and check it out for your self. There
won't be a convention in TX until TX changes their laws to allow out
of state vendors to sell in their state....

Hmm, I see dealers from Oklahoma here all the time at RV shows.  Usually
there selling outhouses that eat their own crap.

Friends of mine had a slide added to their 93 Pace Arrow by a company in
southern Arizona, possibly in Yuma. It held the sofa and dinette. They
were very happy with the work and traveled across the US and back with it.

Adding a slide might put some MHs over their rated weight limit.  Probably
not a problem with most of the diesel pushers or big block gas engines
though.

Had a friend that had one installed in his Bounder.  It was a nice job and I
believe it cost him around $15,000 which included some other interior
updating.  As I recall it was a company in Gilbert, Arizona.  I don't have
one available now but I believe they have had ads in the FMCA magazine.

Was that the one done as a part of a complete make-over at the RV-Net
rally?
If so, yes it was, along with a bunch of other work

The "paint" job was a wrap, not paint.
The slide was made onsite / custom built.
They never touched the engine only added a steering stabilizer.
