Hi Dave;  Yes, Trojan Deep Charge batteries are good quality. Like any
battery, you must keep them properly maintained in order to get long
life from them. This includes keeping them topped off with distilled
water, not fully discharging them and then recharging them as soon as
possible and keeping the exterior, especially the top, clean and free
of electrolyte. I have had Trojan batteries in the last three RV's I
have owned and they have served me well. I frequently dry camp at a
nearby campground on the Pacific Coast and have never been "left in the
dark." On average, I get about 5 to 6 years of useful life from my
batteries. I should also say that a good three stage charger is a must
for keeping the batteries in good condition. Most of the convertors
that come with a lot of RV's are not good chargers. As such, the
batteries are never fully charged. Poor initial performance with
gradual degredation due to sulfation is common with this type of
convertor. If you are going to do a lot of dry camping, you might find
that investing in a good charger would be money well spent.
